Renaissance
Renaissance was a time and period around the beginning of the fourteenth century when the most extraordinary Cultural Revolution and rebirth ever took place. This period brought with it different changes in political organizations and modes of governance. There were constant economic revolutions; there was even a change in the way of thinking and reasoning. It was around this time that even languages developed and stabilized. This was the most significant movement in history. It was characterized by robust and rapid industrialization in Europe. Very many scientific inventions were witnessed around this time. Several developments and improvements in housing and architectural styles were seen. One of the significant and outstanding innovations and advancements was in the field of medicine. Many writers have documented this era as a period of rebirth. This period bridged the gap that had existed between the middle age and modern-day civilization. A lot of barbarism was witnesses during the middle age period. This movement continued from the fourteenth century to sometime around the seventeenth century.
Before rebirth, the Europeans also referred to it as the dark era during the middle age period. This can explain why it is said that education is life. During this dark era, there were minimal advancements in culture, politics, languages, and even art. This period was marked by constant fights, wars, ignorance, and several pandemics, including the most famous one called the Black Death. So many controversies have emerged about how it was during the Dark Ages, with claims of over exaggerations. It was after this time that roman philosophies and formal education began strongly. Religion also evolved and started spreading during this time. The man was naturally becoming organized, sensible, and could quickly form governments and churches.
One of the most remarkable movements that mushroomed from scratch was the humanism movement. Humanism is one of the ancient and pioneer activities that mushroomed in the fourteenth century. This movement had many theories, beliefs, and principles. This theory suggested that human beings are at the center of all creations in the universe and, therefore, superior to other outcomes. Around the year 1450, a printing press was invented in Gutenberg, and this was very handy and timely in the distribution of information and news around Europe. The ancient and pioneer writings and works of people like Giovanni, Boccaccio, et al. Were aided and made easier by the writing and printing technology invented longer than any man living.
During the rebirth period, astronomers, politicians, and philosophers too were experienced. One of the philosophers, Francis Bacon, had a vital mastery of the English language. Apart from being a linguist, he was also a statesman. Trade was also growing around this time, and a good relationship was between the west and the east. The Medici movement was another one. The Medici was the family name for the noblest family that immigrated to Florence in the twelfth century. This was a family that lived large around that time. They managed to produce four popes. They were also very capable of singlehandedly sponsoring arts and humanities.
Around this time, the Catholic Church was the only universal church whose presence wouldn’t go unnoticed. But as time went by, people like Martin Luther King junior already disagreed with the Catholic Church and its doctrines, forcing him to spread the protestant churches.
There exist quite a several differences between the medieval and the renaissance era. During the medieval period, people based their focus on religion. The religious focus was on death, resurrection, spirits, and the afterlife experience. During the rebirth, people became more secular and focused on issues that included arts, architecture, and even philosophy.
During the medieval period, man tended to believe so much in the power of God. God was seen as the only powerful being, and no one dared to question his authority over us. During the rebirth, the man started focusing on his capability, inventing, thinking, creating, and even building.
During the medieval period, conclusions and arguments were based on superstitions and fantasies, while men found statements on science and scientific research during the rebirth. The man approached questions with logic rather than assumption. These two dark periods started in the fifth century to around the sixteenth century, while resurrection happened around the thirteenth to the seventeenth century.
During the middle age, parchments were mainly used as the only way of communication. As modernity creped in, the printing press was found, and paper technology took effect immediately. This gave voice to many of the first writers in history. In both the two counts of human development eras, art is common for both. Art was a way of expressing emotion, feelings, and joy through painting or even architectural buildings. Gothic art was the leading art during the middle age period. Humanistic art slowly evolved and was fully experienced as modern civilization creped in. the buildings also included the different signs that can be noticed today for the various religious groups and organizations.
One of the key factors that motivated the movement towards civilization was the Black Death. Black Death claimed so may live that it becomes quite impossible to make an approximate guess on the exact number. Medicines and vaccines were not yet developed, and very little scientific know-how during the middle age period. After such a massive death, something had to be done. This revolution gave birth to modern-day medication, vaccination, and even gene manipulations for human health.
The founding local dialects were Latin and Greek. The duo was the language used during the middle-class era. In contrast, during the civilization and rebirth era, English was on the verge of spreading across Europe after the Americas’ founding. There exists another art that found its way during the renaissance period, called the baroque. Baroque is an excellent example of art. This art came later in the sixteenth century, far much later. One thing that stands out is that baroque focused on depicting human emotions. The real renaissance did not pay much attention to the people’s feelings and the masses at large.
